SPORTS DESK — WEEKLY LEDGER

Games played February 5–12, 2026

With winter postseason brackets approaching, league tables are beginning to compress. In both the FCIAC and the MAAC, small gaps now separate home-court advantage from mid-bracket positioning, and this week’s results carried measurable seeding implications.

Fairfield University Women’s Basketball

Fairfield 109, Marist 48 — February 5

Fairfield’s conference win preserved its pursuit of the MAAC’s top seed. As of February 12, the Stags stood 14–1 in MAAC play (20–4 overall), second place, one game behind Quinnipiac.

The 109-point total marked the team’s highest conference output this season. Outstanding performers: Janelle Brown led all scorers with 24 points; Leilani Correa added 21; and Meghan Andersen contributed 10 rebounds as Fairfield extended its conference winning stretch.

The result maintains direct seeding pressure atop the MAAC standings, where the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds avoid early tournament matchups against the conference’s most efficient defensive units.

High School Basketball

Boys Basketball

Fairfield Ludlowe 60, Fairfield Warde 57 — February 7

In a head-to-head FCIAC matchup, Ludlowe improved to 8–3 in league play (12–4 overall), tightening its hold in the conference’s upper tier. Warde moved to 6–5 FCIAC (8–8 overall).

Outstanding performers: Ludlowe’s Jack O’Connell scored 22 points, including four three-pointers. Warde’s Ryan Tully finished with 27 points, the game’s high total.

The three-point margin keeps the teams separated by two games in the loss column as tournament qualification nears.

Fairfield Warde 70, Norwalk 64 — February 10

Warde steadied its playoff positioning with a six-point league win. Outstanding performers: Tully added 18 points; Connor Mullins recorded 12 rebounds; and Norwalk’s leading scorer finished with 19.

The result keeps Warde within range of the FCIAC’s middle bracket cluster, where several teams sit within one game of each other.

Girls Basketball

Fairfield Warde 54, Norwalk 26 — February 10

Warde improved to 7–4 in FCIAC play (11–5 overall) with a defensive result that limited Norwalk to 26 points.

Outstanding performers: Ava Rodriguez scored 15 points; Sarah Baker added 11; and the Mustangs forced 18 turnovers.

The margin reinforces Warde’s mid-table position, with league qualification thresholds now in view.

Stamford 68, Fairfield Ludlowe 46 — February 10

Ludlowe dropped to 5–6 FCIAC (6–10 overall). Outstanding performers: Stamford’s leading scorer finished with 20 points, while Ludlowe’s top scorer added 14.

With three weeks remaining, Ludlowe requires additional league wins to move into safer qualifying ground.

Ice Hockey

Boys Hockey

Fairfield Prep 4, Notre Dame–Fairfield 2 — February 8

Prep’s win carried postseason implications in the SCC standings. Outstanding performers: James Murphy scored two goals; goaltender Ryan Clark recorded 28 saves; and Notre Dame’s top scorer added one goal and one assist.

Prep remains in contention for upper-tier conference seeding as tournament play approaches.

Girls Hockey

Fairfield Ludlowe/Warde Co-op 3, Stamford/Westhill/Staples 1 — February 9

The co-op squad strengthened its state tournament positioning with a two-goal win. Outstanding performers: Emma Harrington scored twice; Lily Donovan added an assist; and goaltender Kate Sullivan made 24 saves.

The result moves the co-op closer to secure CIAC qualification standing.

College Basketball — MAAC Context

Fairfield Men’s Basketball

Fairfield 63, Marist 60 — February 7

Fairfield improved to 8–7 in MAAC play (16–10 overall), sixth place as of February 12.

Outstanding performers: Caleb Fields scored 20 points; Brycen Goodine added 14; and Alexis Reyes secured 9 rebounds.

The win keeps Fairfield within reach of the conference’s fourth seed, where first-round tournament positioning remains unsettled.

Sacred Heart Men’s Basketball

Sacred Heart, competing in the MAAC this season, held a mid-table position following its February 9 contest. As standings tighten, intra-conference matchups will determine seeding separation in the coming week.
